17 Things Social Media Taught Me

7:12 PM

Nowadays, pretty much everyone has some form of social media.  Here are some of the things I've learned from sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.  I'm sure there are plenty of things I haven't even thought of, so please feel free to add onto my list!

  1. Not everyone looks like they do in their profile picture.  Sometimes, the more accurate version of a person might be found in the pictures posted by others.
  2. Just because that super cute guy "liked" your picture does NOT always mean he likes you.
  3. People seem (for the most part) emotionally stable...that is, until you see their Twitter profile.
  4. If you want a bajillion likes, I suggest posting a picture of a baby or an animal...or better yet, a baby animal!  (Seriously, how heartless do you have to be to not like this picture?)
  5. Proper spelling and good grammar are not necessary to have friends.
  6. Just because they put that as their middle name on their profile, does not mean that is their legal middle name.
  7. Don't know what to post as a status?  A deep quote or passage of Scripture will ALWAYS do.
  8. There is no such thing as a private moment.
  9. If you didn't Instagram your Starbucks cup, you shouldn't have even gone.
  10. You can't donate to a charity without dumping something cold on your head or doing something else that's equally as stupid.
  11. Peace signs and duck faces can jazz up any selfie.
  12. Emojis r lyfe
  13. If you accidentally click on a Christian Mingle advertisement, they will send you emails for the rest of eternity.
  14. Everything can kill you.
  15. You have to take BuzzFeed quizzes to figure out who you are, who you're going to marry, how happy you are, how many kids you should have, what kind of car you should have, how old you are, how old you will be when you die, etc.
  16. If you didn't post a picture on your first day back to school, it didn't really happen.
  17. Ten Things You Didn't Know About (insert any celebrity name here).
